Ngā mihi - thank you

On behalf of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, we would like to thank all of you who joined us in-person and virtually at the recent RANZCP 2024 New Zealand Conference, held at the InterContinental Hotel Wellington, New Zealand, from 18-20 September 2024.

We covered a wide range of topics including pre-conference workshops on gender-affirming care and how to look after ourselves and keynote presentations on interventional and adult psychiatry, depression and psychopharmacology. In addition, there were talks on ADHD, the role of psychiatrists in humanitarian situations, innovations and new ideas in psychiatry services and child and youth psychiatry.

Thanks to our invited speakers Professors Helen Herrman and Colleen Loo, and 2024 Travelling Scholar, Professor Jonathan Meyer for their valuable contributions, the Minister of Mental Health Mr Matt Doocey, and all our oral and poster presenters and chairpersons.

Thank you to our supporters: Conference barista - NZMII and Conference Dinner – Hospital Staff Solutions and all our exhibiting companies for their investment.

The welcome reception in the exhibition area and our prestigious conference dinner at Parliament House allowed time to reconnect, network and meet new colleagues to share ideas and discussions in a relaxed social setting.

On-demand viewing of the recorded conference sessions will be available for all in-person and virtual registrants to access from 30 September-31 December 2024, so look out for log-in details in your inbox.

We look forward to seeing you in Dunedin Ōtepoti from 8-10 September for the RANZCP 2025 New Zealand Conference.

Dr Ryan Barber and Professor Susanna Every-Palmer
